Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a nerve disorder in the hand that causes pain and loss of feeling, especially in the thumb and first three fingers. Symptoms can include tingling or numbness in part of the hand, sharp pains that shoot from the wrist up the arm, and burning sensations in the fingers. Other symptoms can be thumb weakness, frequent dropping of objects, or inability to make a fist.
Accommodation Examples
- May not be able to write at all or for only a very limited time, which may require the student to either record lectures, use a writer for a test, or have a volunteer note-taker.
