- First 4 weeks: Classroom Instruction and Lab Practice
- Final Week: Clinical Rotations
Course Topics Include:
- Role and responsibilities of Psychiatric Technicians
- Ethical and legal issues
- Infection prevention and control
- Safety in the workplace
- Vital sign assessment
- HIPPA
- Effective and therapeutic communication with psychiatric patients
- The different psychiatric diagnoses
- Documentation
- Proper de-escalation techniques
- Establishing boundaries
Tuition: $2,400*
Tuition includes:
- 102 classroom hours of instruction
- 32 clinical hours of experience
- Textbook
- Drug test
- Criminal background check
- Lab fees
Students are responsible for procuring and providing proof of:
- TB skin test
- Flu vaccine
- Covid-19 vaccine
- MMR vaccine or a Titer proving prior exposure
* Students may drop a program three (3) business days before the start date and receive a full tuition refund. Incurred costs associated with the class will not be refunded, such as background checks, drug tests, or other supplies or textbooks that were not returned unopened. Students who drop after the 3-day grace period are not eligible for a refund.
